Windlake Papillons began nine years ago when we bought our first Papillon, Jacques. We, Butch and Jackie Cantwell, were empty nesters and wanted a toy dog for a pet. We searched for months for a puppy and finally located a breeder who would sell us a pet quality puppy. Then we got involved with rescue and adopted Troy. A friend gave us a beautiful male dog that became our first Champion and a dynamite agility dog. "Dusty" is now seven years old. We were introduced to Patty Gemmill of Starsign Papillons who sold us our first bitch show prospect, Lily. One thing led to another and we now have several champions, puppies in the show ring and Niko, our gorgeous specials dog.
Our kennel name, Windlake Papillons, came about because we were living on a small lake, Wind Lake, in W. Monroe, LA.
